Hi everyone

Just to let you know we have had to set the date earlier than usual for the Chicken Pie Supper. We usually have it the 4th Saturday of October but the school is not available so we have set the date for Saturday, October 13th at 5 p.m. at the school.

Please mark that date on your calendar. This is a supper that takes a lot of workers and a lot of food. Even if you are available to give as little as an hour during the busy times it is a help.

We need a lot of food to be furnished. There are chickens to be furnished, cooked and boned and cut in bite sized pieces, furnished with the broth (the chicken and broth may be done ahead and frozen), many homemade pies are needed. If you are able to do either of these, please sign up for them. If you are going to be away that date, Chicken can always be cooked ahead of time and frozen and even left in the Church freezer. There are a lot of things that need to be bought and furnished and we can always use money to pay for other expenses.

The solicit /work list is available and will be at Church on Sundays. If you know what you can furnish you can email me at napcrni@aol.com.

We will plan to peel squash on Friday morning October 12th at Church at 9:00 a.m.

On Saturday October 13th, we will start at school at 12 noon. There will be tables and dishes to be brought from Church and the dining area set up. These things will all need to go back to Church after the supper.

We will start prepping food in the school kitchen at noon. There will be potatoes to be peeled, cabbage to be chopped, cranberry relish to be made, gravy to be made, chicken to be put in pans. Dishes to be washed in the kitchen as well as the dishwasher.

The busiest times for workers is from 12 noon – about 3 p.m. and then at serving time from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and then clean up after 6 p.m. We will especially need help with dishwashing in the kitchen after workers have finished eating.

This is a lot of work but it is also fun and you get to know your Church friends better.

I hope that you will all be able to help as much as possible in some way.
